1. What are JBOT DECALS?
They are water-activated, just like the decals in model kits. The only difference is
that all the art is printed on a solid sheet of decal film; each piece must be cut
away from the others. Full instructions for using these decals are here.
2. What equipment is used?
I use ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR to draw vector-art. CMYK, gold, silver, and white are
drawn on separate layers. Printing a photo and calling that a decal doesn't work.
My art is printed on TANGO PAPA clear decal paper using ALPS printers.
3. What scales are available?
Artwork can be printed in any scale. Only the most popular scales are shown here.
4. Custom decals?
The price to develop artwork varies, depending on the complexity of the art, the
number of colours, and the overall size of the art. Also, copyright rules may apply.
If you have print-ready art, this fee is waived.
5. Ordering information?
The shopping cart is deactivated. I do still draw stuff, mostly for me, for fun.
I don't print much anymore. However, I do enjoy challenging schemes; if you
have a request, feel free to mail me.
6. Turnaround time?
When payment is received your order is formatted right away. Typically, it will be
printed within a week. Then I sort, package, and mail it. CanadaPost is slow!
7. What do the catalogue numbers mean?
The catalogue numbers are explained here.
8. Why are some items listed but cannot be ordered?
Maybe the art was lost, or the art is not ready yet, or permission has not been
obtained yet, or permission was withdrawn.
9. Canadian or U.S. dollars?
I am in Canada but USA Dollars are preferred. Minimum orders are 20.00 Dollars.
10. Shipping charges?
Shipping is calculated the same way for everyone, everywhere.
The minimum is 4 Dollars; the maximum is 10 Dollars.
Between these two limits, the shipping is 10% of the order.
If you want insurance, tracking, faster shipping, etc. it will cost more.
11. Payment options?
Paypal is best. INTERNATIONAL money orders are good.
Electronic money transfers, bank drafts and cheques are good too.
In all cases, make payment to Jim Botaitis, not JBOT DECALS.
You can also send cash in the mail but there is a risk with the post offices.
