1. Who is JBOT DECALS?

JBOT DECALS is operated by Jim Botaitis in London Ontario Canada.
This website was established in the year 2000.

2. What types of decals?

Decals are available for Military Aircraft, Civilian Aircraft, Police Vehicles, Licence Plates, Spacecraft (real & science fiction), Trucks, and other specialty items.
Each decal sheet comes with an instruction sheet, which typically includes colour photos of the actual aircraft, car, etc. as well as a written description of where each decal is placed.
These decals are water soluble, just like decals available with model kits. The only difference is that these are printed on a solid decal film; each piece must be separated from the others. Full instructions are here.

3. What equipment is used?

I don't print photos and call that a decal; the result would be too pixelated. I draw all-new, vector-based art using ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR 8 and 10 on a DELL PC.
Gold, silver, white, black, and combinations of CMYK are drawn on separate layers.
The artwork is then printed using ALPS MD-1000 and MD-5000 printers.
I use TANGO PAPA clear decal paper.

4. What scales are available?

Artwork can be printed in any scale. Only the most popular scales are shown on this website. If you have a special request, feel free to ask.

5. Custom decals?

The price to develop artwork is 25 Dollars per hour. Copyright rules may require that permission be obtained and/or fees be paid to reproduce some logos; keep this in mind. If you have print-ready art, this fee is waived.

6. Ordering information?

Please use the on-line shopping cart to make your order. There is no obligation, no commitment; it simply provides me with a summary of your address, your decal selection, and your payment preference. This summary allows me to advise you of adjustments to the shipping charge, totals, conversions (if desired), and payment options.
The default is 1 for each item; if you want more, simply specify the quantity.
Once finished, click on the checkout button, select your payment option, and include your shipping address.
There is a section at the bottom for your comments/questions. Please use this section to advise me if your order is a gift, if you need CanadaPost to track the package, etc.

7. Turnaround time?

When payment is received your order is formatted and printed ... just for you. I do not have old decals waiting to be sold.
However, be aware that CanadaPost may take as long as 3 to 4 weeks to process and deliver a package, especially if it is going overseas.

8. What do the catalogue numbers mean?

The catalogue numbers are explained here.

9. Why are some decals not available?

An item may be listed and an image may be visible ... however, if the scales, prices, and ordering buttons are not visible, the decal is not available yet. Many factors can explain this; maybe the art was lost, or I have not finished it yet, or I got sidetracked by other projects and forgot about it, or permission was revoked.
Sometimes a scheme does become "no longer available" (such as HOOTERS AIR, TORONTO POLICE, PEEL POLICE).
You are welcome to write me if you want to know more.

10. Canadian or U.S. dollars?

All the prices shown are in U.S. Dollars.

11. Minimum orders?

Minimum orders are 20.00 U.S. Dollars.

12. Shipping charges?

Shipping is calculated in the same way, no matter where you live on Earth.
(If you are not on Earth, PLEASE contact me.)
The minimum shipping charge is 3.00 U.S. Dollars (for orders up to $30.00) and the maximum is 10 U.S. Dollars (for orders above $100.00). In between these two limits, the shipping is 10% of the order.
If you want insurance, tracking or faster shipping, let me know.

13. Payment options?

I cannot accept credit card payments. Many other options are available:
- All money orders are acceptable except for green US Postal Service money orders with "NEGOTIABLE ONLY IN THE US & POSSESSIONS" printed on them in big red letters. I am in Canada. Canadian banks won't accept these.
- Cashier's cheques, certified cheques, or bank drafts are acceptable.
- Paypal can be used to make payments from your PayPal account, your bank, or your credit card.
- A personal cheque is fine; expect a delay while waiting for it to clear the banks.
- You can also send cash in the mail but there is a risk with the post offices.

Make payment to Jim Botaitis, not JBOT or JBOT DECALS.
